Money saving tips for Students.

 As a student, one of the most important things to keep in mind is the amount of money you spend during your school years. Spend too much money, and you run the risk of accumulating debt after graduation; spend very little money and you will not be left wondering what the point of it all is, if you have not even found an exciting or new experience.

But don't be afraid: here are some simple and easy tips to save money as a student - without compromising on your quality of life.

1. Buy second-hand items!

Buying second-hand goods is a great way to save money as a student, since prices are usually much lower than brand new items. Spend some time at your local Oxfam, Octavia Foundation or other support stores near your university looking for second-hand goods, and you may be amazed at the riches you find - high-quality clothing, vintage accessories, fun little ornaments or antique books - all at a low price.

Remember, don't be afraid to go in and look at the things on the shelves - the staff are usually friendly and the atmosphere is good. And, as money goes to good intentions, you can spend on your heart’s content without that guilt afterwards!

2. Stop buying food later in the day

Many supermarkets sell for money in the evenings, where any expired food is sold at a marked price. Bread, seafood and dairy products continue to be sold, and many vegetables, fruits, and other new products are labeled at reduced prices. These are good references to students, as meals usually do not last a few days. The next time you shop, try to enter the store a few hours before it closes and check the prices. There is a big difference!

3. Cook for yourself

Cooking yourself helps you save money as a student. Eating out is one of the most expensive things you can do, especially if you are studying in a city where many restaurants are expensive. So boys and girls, call your inner Jamie Oliver and cook from scratch. Cooking is not only cheaper, but also healthier, better for your body (think of the amount of saturated fat in Chinese fatty drinks) and great fun too!

4. Hide credit card

Let's face it - you and I are both guilty of spending a lot of money on things that we already have;

 b) they are not needed at all or

 c) they are very expensive.

 And often, issuing a credit card or bank card is an easy way to pay off a debt without having to deal with reality. Many students are tempted by credit cards to buy now and pay later, but this bad habit can lead to overuse or over-indebtedness at the end of the month. Avoid this method of payment - keeping calculations is much easier when it comes to money!

5. Search for free entertainment

Many people think that having fun means spending a lot of money on movies, events, clubs, theme parks, or other things in the community. In fact, there are many types of free entertainment available in any city - it just requires a little extra effort and dedication to get it! Browse the internet and maybe start on websites like outoutout.com, where you can search all sorts of things you can do for free. Remember many clubs, cinemas and theaters will offer student discounts - if it is not well advertised, just ask. The university itself will have a lot of cheap entertainment happening, and joining student clubs will mean you benefit from more discounts.
